Exhibit at AerieArt Gallery in Rehoboth to Feature Works of Renowned Neo-Classical American Realist R. Jean Vallieres

June 27, 2006, Rehoboth Beach, Delaware. Aerie Art Gallery will debut the first mid-Atlantic exhibit of renowned American artist R. Jean Vallieres.  The exhibition opens on July 1 with a reception honoring the artist beginning at 5:00 P. M., free and open to the public, at 45-1/2 Lake Avenue, on Third Street. It will continue through July 21.

Organized in cooperation with the Renaissance Fine Art Gallery of Carnegie, Pennsylvania, the exhibition includes landscape, portrait and still life paintings selected to awaken the imagination and to perpetuate the memory of viewers.  The works of the artist, who likes to be called John, demonstrate a mastery of the oil medium, conveying meaning, immediacy and depth.  Many of the oil paintings represent stellar examples of a new movement in the visual arts, an amalgam of 18th and 20th Century Neo-Classicism and 19th Century Realism - referred to as “Neo-Classical American Realism.”

"We are pleased to host this exhibit of highly acclaimed paintings by an artist with a national reputation,” stated gallery owners Elisa and Dick Poole.  “The new Neo-Classical American Realism art movement, begun quietly during the past decade, may well become a new and exciting tour de force in the art world.”

John’s works are on display at St. Paul Cathedral, the Basilica and National Shrine, and the Cathedral of Saint Mathew the Apostle, all in Washington, D.C.; Trinity Cathedral, St Paul Cathedral, and Downpatrick Cathedral, The du pont Winterthur Museum, Wilmington; the Frick Museum & Historical Center; Pittsburgh, PA; The Merrick Museum and Cultural Center, New Brighton, PA; and prominent corporate buildings in the United States and the United Kingdom.

Aerie Art Gallery is open daily, seven days a week, from 11:00 A. M. to 5:00 P. M., as well as by appointment.  The gallery also features fine art from the 19th and early 20th Centuries.
